Joyce Manongsong, a York University English major, is an aspiring writer who has lived in Scarborough for almost half of her life. She has built a strong sense of community in Scarborough and considers it her home. Having taken an interest in the arts at a young age, Joyce has participated in youth projects targeted towards encouraging the arts in her community. She also uses creative writing as a medium for storytelling and expressing her experiences growing up as a Filipino-Canadian. She has recently taken an interest in photography and hopes to capture her stories and the emotions behind them through pictures.
